Privacy Policy
Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how uCurrent Limited Liability Company, a Wyoming limited liability company ("uCurrent", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use ucurrent.io and the forms, booking tools, and communications we operate under the uCurrent name (together, the "Site").
It does not cover sites or services that other companies operate, including the site of a partner who referred you to us and the services of any provider who delivers or funds something we help arrange. Their own policies govern what they do with your information. If you later sign an agreement with us for a specific service, that agreement will describe anything it collects beyond what is set out here.
By using the Site you agree to this Policy and to our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information we collect
What you give us. Depending on which form you complete, this can include:
- your name, email address, and phone number;
- whether you own a business or are planning to start one;
- about your business: its legal name, how long it has operated, its monthly revenue range, its industry, how much funding you are looking for, what you would use it for, and how soon you need it;
- if you are planning to start a business: a credit score range you report to us, the credit limits you report as available to you, and any negative items you tell us appear on your credit profile;
- the date and time of any call you book with us, and who you booked it with;
- anything you choose to send us by email, text, or phone.
Your phone number. We collect your phone number only when you voluntarily provide it through the chat window on our website or give it to us directly. We do not buy phone numbers, and we do not obtain them from lists.
What we do not collect through the Site. We do not ask for, and you should not send us through the Site, a Social Security number, a government ID, a date of birth, bank or credit bureau login details, or a copy of a credit report. Any credit information we hold from the Site is what you have reported to us yourself.
What we receive from a referring partner. If a partner introduced you to us, we record which partner it was and the date of the introduction, and that partner may pass us your name and email address so that we can follow up. A referring partner never passes us your phone number: we collect it only from you, as described above, and we text it only if you have checked the box agreeing to texts.
What is collected automatically. When you visit the Site our hosting provider records standard server information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of each request. Our pages run one script: the chat window, which is provided by the service that runs our customer messaging system. It loads when you open a page, may set the cookies it needs to keep a conversation going, and sends what you type into it, with the time you sent it, to our customer messaging system. Our intake and booking pages communicate only with our own systems and load their typeface from a third-party font-hosting service, which receives your IP address for that request. We do not run advertising trackers on the Site and we do not set advertising cookies.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiry, schedule and hold calls with you, and understand what you are trying to do;
- work out which service, person, or resource is the right next step for you, and introduce you to it;
- keep an accurate record of who referred you, so that we can honor our arrangements with that partner;
- communicate with you about your inquiry and about our services, and send you non-marketing text messages where you have agreed to receive them;
- operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- detect and prevent fraud and misuse;
- comply with law and with our legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.
How we share information
With the partner who referred you. If you came to us through a referring partner, we share your name, your contact details, the answers you gave on the intake form, whether you booked a call, and if so when and with whom, with that partner, so they can follow up on their referral and see what happened to it. That sharing takes place inside a private, access-controlled workspace the partner uses with us.
With the people and companies who deliver a service. When you decide to go ahead with a service that another company delivers or funds, we pass that company what it needs to serve you, and we tell you who it is before you commit. Their privacy policy governs what they do with your information from that point.
With our service providers. We use other companies to run parts of the Site and our business on our behalf: our customer relationship and scheduling system, our website hosting, our email and text-message delivery, and the tools our team uses to communicate. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
Within our corporate family. We may share information with companies under common ownership or control with uCurrent, for the purposes described in this Policy.
For legal reasons. We may share information to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or court order; to respond to a lawful request from a public authority; to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
What we do not do. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. We do not share your SMS opt-in data or consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Text messages
If you check the consent box in the chat window on our website, uCurrent will send you informational and transactional text messages, such as replies to your inquiry, appointment reminders, and account notifications. Text messages are sent by uCurrent only, and only to a number whose owner has agreed to receive them. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help, or call (702) 941-6608 or write to info@ucurrent.io. Our text messages come from (702) 941-6608. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing anything from us.
Our customer messaging system keeps a record of your agreement, including when you gave it and the number you gave, so that we can show that you asked to hear from us.
Your choices and rights
Opting out. You can opt out of marketing emails using the link in any such email, out of texts by replying STOP, and out of any form of contact by writing to info@ucurrent.io. After you opt out of texts we will not text you again unless you opt back in; we may still email you where that is necessary to respond to something you asked for or to complete something you started.
Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to info@ucurrent.io. We will verify that the request comes from you before acting on it. We may keep information we need to meet a legal obligation, to honor a contract, or to establish or defend a claim, and we will tell you if that applies.
California and other state residents. If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we have used and shared it, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of any sale or sharing of it for cross-context advertising, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising. Residents of other states with similar privacy laws have similar rights. To exercise any of them, or to have an authorized agent do so for you, write to info@ucurrent.io.
Do Not Track. The Site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because it does not track you across other sites in the first place.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes described here, which includes the length of our relationship with you, the term of our arrangement with any partner who referred you, and any period a law or a legal claim requires. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect information
We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections to the Site, access controls on the systems that hold it, and limits on who in our team and at our providers can see it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, and you should not send us anything through the Site that we have said we do not collect.
Children
The Site is for adults running or starting a business. It is not directed at anyone under eighteen and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has given us information, write to info@ucurrent.io and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Policy on the Site with a new effective date, and where the change is material and we hold an email address for you, we will tell you by email. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
